WAYS TO DONATE
There is no free education in Uganda, and good schools are expensive. In addition, tuition and other costs increase greatly as children advance in their academic studies. Educating one of our young children in 2013 was $240 per year.
Today the average cost of educating one of Jajja’s Kids is $1,100 annually!
Because of high poverty levels as well as the high cost of education, only 25% of Ugandans complete elementary school. We are proud that half of Jajja’s Kids have already achieved this milestone.
Help secure a child’s future!
A donation in any amount is always welcomed.
A donation of $50 a month helps sponsor a child’s education.
A donation of $150 a month sponsors their basic needs as well as education.
Jajja’s Kids’ home opened in January 2013 with eight children and two staff. By 2018, our program had grown to twenty children and a staff of six. As both the children and program grew, it became apparent we were outgrowing our rented house. The children also needed the stability and security of a permanent home to call their own.
In the Fall of 2017 a capital campaign began, and by January 2019 we had raised $75,000 to purchase a partially constructed house. Renovations are underway with the goal of moving the children and staff in by the end of this year. But we need more to complete the building and furnish it!
Help us raise $25,000 to
finish construction and move Jajja’s Kids in!
Children who have lived on the street know that survival depends on food, medical care and someone looking out for their welfare. The general program at Jajja’s Kids
meets this fundamental need. Our former street children now live as family, receiving three meals a day, medicine when needed, companionship and above all love.
The operation of Jajja's Kids' general program currently costs
over $1,800 a month. This pays for:
Food and medicine for children and staff
Help us provide for
Jajja's Kids' basic needs with
a donation in any amount.
Join our cadre of sustaining monthly donors and know that you are making
a meaningful difference! While donations of any kind are always welcomed,
monthly donations in any amount best provide stability for our education
and general program funds.
