Jajja's Kids first launched a home for street children in December 2012.
It began with a small rented house and nine young children taken in from the slums of Kampala. The goal was to provide a safe and healthy living environment and make sure each child received a quality education.
Today, Jajja's Kids has expanded to 20 children who live together as family, safe and secure in a new home of their own. The children attend school regularly, and in December nine will graduate--three from Primary school and six from two levels of Secondary school.
Each of Jajja's Kids understands the value of a good education, and the difference it can make for themselves and their families. They are grateful for the opportunities they have been given and are mindful of how far they have come.
With several of Jajja's Kids about to achieve major milestones along their educational path, we are all looking to the future and the unknowns that lie ahead. Post-secondary education in Uganda--whether vocational, college or university--is comparable to the cost of educating our secondary students and this makes continued learning for our upcoming graduates a real possibility. The directors of Jajja's Kids are committed to supporting each child to achieve their best level of educational ability, so they may become self-supporting someday.

Sonia graduates this December and Dan graduates in 2023.
Both are destined for a college or university.
We are indebted to everyone who has supported Jajja's Kids on this journey of providing a home and education to our children. The last ten years have been transformative and magical!
